With all the gurus of the wedding industry under one roof, the underwater themed ‘Our Wedding Carnival’ Season 3 opened its doors on the 3rd and 4th of April at the lush Cleopatra Ballroom in the Intercontinental Hotel Semiramis. Over 100 vendors from various fields ranging from wedding planners to honeymoon agencies, makeup artists to bachelorette party supplies were keen to offer their services to the thousands of attendees.
All the vendors exhibited their work to attendees and had exclusive offers to brides and grooms throughout the two days of the carnival. “I am amazed by the organization of the carnival and the variety of the vendors present,” said bride-to-be Alaa Mashhour.
The carnival featured over 10 live performances, one of which was the very authentic & unique Rock & LOL band, who dressed in 70’s fashion and sang some classic oldies that took the audience back to this golden time.
On the first day, for the first time in Egypt, prominent make-up artist Mohamed Abdel Hamid worked his magic during a live airbrush show; AND Six beautiful fashion shows by some of the best talents in the business lit up OWC3 catwalk over the two-day event.
Throughout the two days, Ahmed Essam and his crew performed a striking live fireworks show. Following his show were a series of fashion shows by Blanche Maison De Couture, A & L Atelier for Syrian designers Antar & Lahmouni, the Egyptian fashion designer and official sponsor of Miss Egypt’s beauty pageant, Bahig Hussein Couture who showcased his Dancing With the Stars collection. In addition, aspiring artist Walaa Amin’s launched her first Blanche Maison de Couture collection.
Moreover, leading Spanish brand Rosa Clara, showcased their 2015 collection with romantic silhouettes and stunning details in a variety of figure flattering styles; and international Lebanese fashion designer Hadi Katra exhibited his couture bridal collection for the first time in Egypt. In addition, Lebanese hairstylist Kriss celebrated 15 years of success in Egypt and showed off his magic on stage as he explored different bridal hairstyles on various stunning models…I mean how cool is that set up! “We seek to offer all what is new to our clients,” Christina Youssef, supervisor at Kriss said.
Soon after all this glitter & glam… Raffle Draws! A few attendees won several prizes offered by the various vendors; from a free makeup session from Mohamed Abdel Hamid beauty salon, bridal gift bags from L’Oreal to a diamond wedding ring from L’Azurde! Yes a Free Giveaway Shabka ladies & gents!
The award ceremony rewarded the sponsors including L’Oreal Paris, Jumia, Flickers by Dina Bakr, Khattab, My First HD by Ashraf Hamed, Graw Photography and Artlight.

The attendees seemed to enjoy the atmosphere of the carnival and benefit from the various services it offered. “It gathered all the aspects of the wedding experience in one place,” Aya Ibrahim said. “Everything I need is here from A to Z!” Aya Youssef explained.
The soon-to-be brides talked to My Lush Wedding about their wedding journeys. “It’s somewhat of a hassle of course,” Mona Besheer said smiling. “I think the whole thing is a bit exaggerated; it should less complicated once you have all the specific details,” Hana said.
Vendors expressed their pleasure to present their work at the carnival and to get a chance to interact with their potential clients. Here is some of what they had to say!*Omar Sweilam, Partner and Marketing Director at Hammock Tours, explained that it his third time to participate in the carnival because he trusts the proficiency of the organizers, “The clients who showed up were of high caliber.” He also added that, “Our agency is the first specialized honeymoon agency in Egypt where all the details are tailored to the couple’s preference.”
*“I participated because I wanted to advertise and market my brand, especially because the carnival targets the same audience I’m seeking,” Marwa Hesham, owner of The Gown for bridal and evening dresses, said.
*“I want to open a new market for my brand in Cairo and this is a great opportunity for me,” said Engy El Gebaly, Owner of Hi-Creations for Wedding Planning and Invitation Services.
And Of course Egypt’s favorite cupcake bakers were there in a beautifully set up booth…“Because NOLA Cupcakes’ vision is based on interacting with the public and showing them that what they wish for is doable, we chose to participate in the carnival,” Dina Kamel, catering specialist at NOLA Cupcakes, said.
Photographers, invitation designers, fashion designers, makeup artists and wedding planners with exquisite booths…all under one roof.

*“I want my pictures to capture emotions. I get to know the couple first and their preferences to deliver pictures that are highly personalized to them, with our special touch of course,” Hala Sabry, owner of Hala’s Life Photography, explained.
*“I believe it is important for the customers to meet with the photographer and examine his work closely in order to be well acquainted with his style. This is why I am here today,” explained Yehia El Zeiny, owner of Yehia El Zeiny Photography.
And since L’azurde was rumored to steal the show and end it with a bang we sat with Rasha Hassan, marketing manager at L’Azurde who tipped brides to “always keep your usage in your mind.you can buy a very big diamond ring but never wear it…if you are spending a fortune on a ring, you deserve to Show.It.Off!”
And of course the bride’s attire is never complete without her dazzling jewelry. “What sets our brand apart is that it offers fashionable and stylish accessories with convenient prices,” said Othman El Masry, owner of Lady Rose, a Syrian brand for bridal accessories.
Sherif Ashraf, Managing Director of Red Square and organizer of OWC, said: “We are very pleased with the raving success of this season of OWC3. The flux of visitors was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Everyone who participated in this season definitely contributed to this success. From live shows to exclusive offers and the best wedding experts in the field, I think this season succeeded with flying colors”.
Among the celebrities who were present at the carnival were Poussy Shalaby, Nahla Salama, Nehal Anbar, Jehane Halawa, Samia Abol Fotoh, in addition to Rotary and Inner Wheel club members.
And just like icing on the cake, the event concluded on a perfect note with the announcement of the 10 orphan brides whose wedding expense are sponsored for the first time this season by OWC3 in collaboration with ‘Benebny Hayah’ project….What a beautiful iniative Red Square!
